‘Home’ is a word that evokes warmth and comfort. It is a place that makes you think of close ones, love and laughter, while also capturing moments of personal conquests and painful journeys. Home is a place of rest, but it is simultaneously a good place to start whatever pursuits you have planned for yourself. If you think you are done with renting a place that does not quite feel like home, maybe it is time to consider house hunting! The hunt for a house is, for many, a suitable way to realise ambitions for the future, because the home you pick decides several things that can impact your life. It is different from the fast-paced temperance of renting.
1. It’s A Good Long-Term Investment
Buying a house in Batu Arang supposes that you are looking for a place to plant roots. This is not to say that a home has to be permanent, but it does insinuate that you are ready to settle down in one area for a long time. Purchasing a home is an initial expense, but overtime it becomes a worthwhile investment because you are your own landlord. Once you have paid for the building it is yours! No monthly payments to anyone else’s pockets to live in your house once you have purchased it.
2. You Can Personalise Your Home
If you take a stroll down the winding streets of Batu Arang, you notice a lot of beautiful homes with lovely interiors and chic features. You can do the same with your house, without any worry of upsetting your downstairs neighbours or causing massive structural damage because you live on the eighteenth floor! A house allows you to start fresh and let your personality to shape it into a home. You can modify and renovate whichever parts you are not fond of, or expand your home by adding rooms or breaking walls. It is all up to you. It also means you decide the kind of furniture you want in your house and where, as opposed to renting where furniture may not fit into certain spaces.
3. Your House, Your Rules
Renting at a condominium requires your willingness to abide by their rules: swimming rules, late night restrictions, or noise stipulations, and other such things that you may have not been fond of. Buying a house allows you to do whatever you want whenever you want (be weary of the noise complaints!). Owning your property allows you to establish your own rules and conduct, without the stipulations of others. Similarly, several rented homes require that you not have an animal with you in the building. If you have housemates who are allergic, that can also become an issue. In your own house, you can get as many pets as you like, as long as you can take care of them. Dogs are a great companion to anyone young or old, and certainly a great addition to the home.
