What makes indoor living and working the very least comfortable? Space? Sure, as long as there is plenty of room. Furniture? Of course, unless you want to exclusively use the floors instead. Water supply? Fantastic. Your home no doubt have a water tank, pipes, air vent valve, sinks, whatever else that is necessary to carry clean, pristine water into your home.
But what is more valuable and the number one priority of indoor comfort?
Fresh air. Air vents. That is it. Without it, you may have trouble breathing in the space you are living in. Carbon dioxide will build up while oxygen is reduced, and if you are feeling a headache, dizzy, stomachache, chest pain and confusion, you are already on the verge of carbon dioxide poisoning. Too much of it can kill or knock you unconscious.
This isn’t the only reason why air ventilations are of utmost importance indoors.
Removes condensations
Molds are not what you want to welcome in your house at all. Not only are they not a pretty sight to look at, they can also peel off and damage wherever they grow, whether it is the ceilings or walls. Molds compromise the air quality of your home and you may develop health issues such as allergy symptoms or, in serious cases, nervous system disorders.
Condensation happens when the air is too cold or left cool long enough that its relative humidity increases over time and the invincible water vapours turn into moisture. After a period of time, the cold air can no longer hold onto all the moisture and retreat to the cooler spots including walls, windows and behind furniture. The affected areas eventually become damp thanks to liquid droplets.
Reduces the chance of getting asthma
If you get asthma out of nowhere in your own home, it may be because you are living in damp, mouldy conditions. Molds aren’t the only threats you must know about. Breeding in the damp air are also dust mites and their airborne debris which if contacts your skin or inhaled, can cause especially asthma attacks due to allergic reactions.
Reduces the occurrence of Radon gas
Radon is a colorless and odorless radioactive gas emitted from the naturally occurred uranium from soils and rocks. If you happen to live near a place with high levels of granite and other igneous rocks, you must frequently test for Radon levels.
Radon produces its appropriately named Radon’s Daughters, another radioactive element that attaches itself to dust particles in the air. Inhaling this can cause them to stick on the airways of your lungs and can cause lung cancer.
Control air pollution
Maybe you think that air pollution is prevalent on the outside, but if you think that you are safer on the inside, don’t always count on it. Air can be more polluted there thanks to the build ups of pollutants, bacteria, moisture, and unpleasant smells. A good ventilation system can prevent most of these pollutants from plaguing the confines of your own home.
If headaches, allergies, rashes, asthma and sinus infections wouldn’t convince you to ventilate your home properly, we will never know what will. Plus, controlling the air pollution will also prevent you the surefire chance of getting the mentioned hazards such as carbon monoxide poisoning and molds.
